My Nikah Sakinah is a matrimonial platform where singles meet, discover profiles, connect with one another and communicate with the intention of finding a spouse.
For purposes of applicable data protection laws, My Nikah Sakinah may act as a data controller in relation to personal information collected and processed through the platform.

Account information: full name, email address, telephone number, password or authentication information, gender, age/date of birth, location and profile photograph.
Matrimonial and profile information: marital status, number of children, family information, religious or faith-related information, education, occupation, lifestyle information, personal preferences, information about the type of spouse sought, and responses to matrimonial profile questions.
Some of this information may constitute sensitive personal data under Kenyan law. It is collected because it is relevant to the matrimonial service and because members choose to provide it.
Verification information: email verification, Safaricom SMS verification, verification codes and related technical information. Email/SMS verification is not a background check.
Payment information: transaction amount, date, reference, membership purchased and payment status. Payment providers may process payment information under their own privacy policies.
Technical and usage information: IP address, device information, browser/application information, operating system, login information, usage information and diagnostic/security information.
We use personal information to create and manage accounts; display profiles according to platform functionality and member settings; allow members to discover and connect; process connection requests; enable communication after accepted connections; process memberships and payments; provide email/SMS verification; administer the membership connection guarantee; provide support; respond to complaints; detect and prevent fraud, abuse and misuse; maintain security and functionality; improve services; comply with legal obligations; and protect the rights, safety and property of My Nikah Sakinah, members and others.
My Nikah Sakinah is a platform where members meet. Information you choose to include in your profile may be visible to registered members so they can learn about you and decide whether to connect.
Do not publish information that you do not want other members to see.
Your telephone number will not be shared with another member unless you have given My Nikah Sakinah permission to share it or you voluntarily provide it yourself.
Where the platform provides the relevant functionality, you may give My Nikah Sakinah permission to share your telephone number with another member. You may also request another member's contact information where the platform permits this and the required permission has been provided.
Once contact information has been voluntarily shared with another member, My Nikah Sakinah cannot control how that member subsequently stores, uses, copies or shares it.
Depending on the circumstances, My Nikah Sakinah may process personal information on lawful bases permitted under Kenyan data protection law, including consent, performance of a contract or steps necessary to enter into a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, legitimate interests where permitted by law, and other lawful grounds recognised by applicable law.
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent where applicable. Withdrawal does not necessarily affect processing lawfully carried out before withdrawal.
We may share personal information where reasonably necessary to operate the platform, including with other members where information is intended for your profile or you authorise disclosure; payment providers; SMS and telecommunications providers; email providers; hosting and cloud providers; technology and software providers; professional advisers and service providers; government authorities or law-enforcement bodies where required or permitted by law; and other parties where you have provided appropriate consent or disclosure is otherwise lawful.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
My Nikah Sakinah may use third-party providers for hosting, cloud infrastructure, payments, SMS verification, email delivery, security, analytics and technical support.
These providers may process personal information on our behalf and may be subject to contractual, security and privacy obligations. Where required by law, appropriate safeguards will be used.

Deleting your account does not necessarily erase information another member may already have received or copied after you voluntarily shared it.
Before sharing your telephone number, photographs, financial information, identification documents, home address or other sensitive information with another member, consider whether you are comfortable doing so.
My Nikah Sakinah cannot control information once you voluntarily disclose it directly to another member.
My Nikah Sakinah is a matrimonial platform intended for adults seeking marriage. We do not knowingly provide matrimonial services to children.
If we become aware that an account has been created by a person who is not legally permitted to use the service, we may suspend or terminate the account and take appropriate steps regarding associated personal information.
Our website or application may use cookies, device identifiers or similar technologies where necessary to keep you logged in, remember preferences, maintain security, understand platform usage, improve functionality and performance, and support analytics where applicable.
